State to host swine flu clinic Friday From staff reports The Weekly Post Published November 12, 2009 Friday, from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. or until supplies run out, the state health department will once again hold a swine flu vaccination clinic at the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum. "There's still going to be a limited supply," said county EMA director Mike Leath at Tuesday's county commission meeting. "In late November, they're still planning to have some school-based clinics but for now, this one is the only one in the county." • The commission approved to buy a patrol car for the sheriff's office for the price of $22,132. The bid by Carl Gregory Ford was within the three percent allowed over the state bid. • Approved to open local bids on a new vehicle for the county reappraisal department. • Approved to buy approximately 238 "vandal proof" video cameras for use in schools. The bid from HTTS was for $105 per camera. "This funding came through the Homeland Security money and stimulus money," Leath said. "It was a total of $25,000 and was earmarked for school use." The cameras will be used by county and Fort Payne city schools. Installation will be left up to the schools. • Agreed to send a couple of EMA personnel to Auburn for the Alabama Association of Emergency Managers Winter Workshop. • Sent a claim to the insurance company for damages to the vehicle of Aaron Dixon.
