Every year, the third-graders at Plainview School enjoy a Thanksgiving feast and this year was no exception.
Last Tuesday, over 100 students (most dressed as pilgrims and Indians) filled the lobby of the DeKalb County Schools Coliseum.
After they were seated, reading coach Eddie Atkins read "The Pilgrim's First Thanksgiving," written by Ann McGovern, while the students had a snack of popcorn.
Then a group of visitors from the United Cherokee Ani-Yen-Wiya Nation played Indian music while Crossville freshman Amanda Millsap, herself a member of the tribe, performed a "fancy dance or butterfly dance."
After the entertainment, the students, faculty, and visitors enjoyed their Thanksgiving feast.
